A scissor set for a hairdressing school or a salon team has a different job from a single pair bought by one stylist. Everyone gets the same tools, the tools are used every day, and the set often carries the name of the school or brand. These are the points worth deciding first.
Decide what is in the set
The simplest academy set is one cutting scissor and one thinning scissor in a case or box. Some schools add a comb, a cape or a sectioning clip. For manicure and pedicure courses, a kit usually covers clippers, nippers, scissors, pushers and a file. Hair extension courses need pliers, a loop tool, clips and micro rings. Write down the exact list before asking for a quote.
Think about branding
A logo can be engraved or printed on the tools, and printed or embossed on the case or box. Engraving stays on the tool for good, while printing is easier to change between orders. Many schools use both: engraving on the blade or handle and printing on the packaging.
Choose the packaging with the students in mind
Cases and boxes protect the tools in a bag and make a set feel like a finished product. Inserts hold each tool in place, and an instruction card can explain care and use. Retail-ready packaging matters if the school also sells sets to students.
Plan the quantity
Minimum order quantities vary by product and by how much customization you want, so it helps to know how many students you expect per intake and how often you will reorder. Samples can be reviewed before larger production, which is a good way to check size and feel before you commit.
